How does SecureCattle work?

SecureCattle’s proprietary carrier allows cattle to accurately detect bovine appeasing pheromone (BAP) through their vomeronasal organ which transmits the message to the brain. Unlike any other appeasing products, SecureCattle allows two delivery mechanisms: Into the lipidic film (sebum), that lays in the skin and to bind with the hair releasing it slowly over 14 days through volatilization created by the heat of the animal. The message is passed to the area of the brain that controls emotions and the various physiological mechanisms they influence. The brief action allows the animal to use its adaptive abilities without being overwhelmed by stress.

Are there differentiated doses depending on the weight of cattle I'm treating?

No. Unlike other products, SecureCattle has a single dose. Pheromones are not like drugs that are dosed based on weight. Think of pheromones as an on-off signal - as soon as you have applied the optimized dose to turn on the vomeronasal organ receptors, any more product is unnecessary.

SecureCattle's formulation is optimized for release of BAP from the animal's body heat and the air circulating across the surface of the skin. That process is improved when the animals move. The carrier in SecureCattle acts as the vehicle to deliver BAP to the vomeronasal organ without having to dose the animal on the muzzle. This makes application easier on the animal AND the handler!

Other competative pheromone-like products have higher % of BAP. Why?

Activation of the nerves in the vomeronasal organ is NOT dose-related. It is a simple on-off system. Since SecureCattle has a proprietary formulation that activates the nerves through an OPTIMIZED volitilization, the effect can be accomplished using ONLY 1% BAP. Other products take >10 times MORE active ingredient to activate sensory nerves in the vomeronasal orgin due to their under-optimized mineral oil carriers.

No! SecureCattle is a completely natural blend of fatty acids designed to mimic the natural BAP produced by the skin of a cow's udder. No meat or milk withhold is required.

No. The answer is quite the opposite. SecureCattle was the first ever BAP developed for cattle and available globally. In fact, but Ferappease and CattleZen were designed in an attempt to copy the BAP in SecureCattle.

Question 14

After treating several animals, the SecureCattle bottle begins to collapse. What should I do?

This is happening because the bottle is getting vapur locked. Unscrew the applicator and allow for air to expand the bottle. Once expanded, screw the applicator back on and carry on de-stressing your cattle!

Ideally, SecureCattle should be applied BEFORE the stressful event. If this is not possible, application at the time of the stressful event is also adventageous. Stressful events include calving, weaning, treating/vaccinating, transportation, regrouping, ration changes, pen moves, hoof trimming etc... If the event is out of the "normal" day for the animal, it has the potential to causse stress.

If the product freezes, it will separate out into 2 phases. You should put it back to room temprature (~20°C) and shake it vigarously to restore the solution.
